I love 3D an especially love 3D Animation. I mostly model now days in Maya 3D and Zbrush Software. But in the past have used 3D Max, Cinema 4D and lots of other 3D software.

If your looking to see some awesome 3D Animations and Motion Graphics I would recommend viewing http://motionographer.com/. It’s awesome website which I view pretty often to see industry trends and also just have a good time watching all the different animations. Or just check out my portfolio section as I will be adding some of my own personal 3D Animations very soon.

I find that even incorporating 3D into any type of product demonstration, product training, marketing, or user based interaction really helps translate sometimes difficult to understand ideas and knowledge.

Also with 3D becoming more and more main stream with such things as 3D TV’s, movies, and video gaming devices. It is only a matter of time before operating systems and other such interactive applications integrate more and more 3D models, animations, and experiences to their users.

So if you have a project were you’d like to utilize any type of 3D Modeling or Animation please feel free to contact me directly at info@robertmcmonagle.com !

Company website blog’s are growing more and more important now days and often used as a way to keep in touch with their user base, generate ideas, increase communication, and release company news.

WordPress is a great tool for setting up a blog and is mostly the standard when creating a blog for a website. It has a lot of great theme options that you can setup and use very easily.

But in a lot of cases these themes are pretty generic or don’t represent your brand. So in this case its best to go with a costumed WordPress theme. Designed to represent your business brand and marketing. I’ve built whole themes in WordPress so I can actually work with you to make your WordPress match your websites look and style. Incorporating your website’s main navigation and logo. So that your customer’s and clients won’t know that they are in a separate system within your site. It will all feel nature and help increase traffic to that section of your site.

I personally love WordPress and everything you can do within it. It can be used as a full CMS tool or just as a blog. If you’d like help in this area please feel free to contact me anytime at info@robertmcmonagle.com.

When I hear the term E-Marketing I kind of think of it as a old term and someone generic at this point. Because honestly at this point it isn’t E-Marketing any more. It’s just simply Marketing. Any online marketing of your business should just be part of your normal marketing plan. If it is not then you definitely need to consider it.

In today’s world of computers and internet usage your Marketing should be online no matter what the situation. When people look to buy things or research companies for business they go online now and go to Google, Yahoo, or Bing even.

So if your not showing up in any of those search engines through organic SEO, PPC, affiliate marketing, or social media. Then it is going to be very tough for you to market your companies products and or services.

My recommendation would be to contact me at info@robertmcmonagle.com and I would be more then happy to review your site, marketing strategy, and work with you to help increase your companies overall online market presence and brand awareness.

Ok let’s face it. A few years ago everyone was making flash based websites. Everyone wanted flash in their site. You could do tons of awesome things with it like add videos to your website, play games, and even create awesome web based applications.

Well the year is now 2011 and things have changed. I love flash and think its a cool platform. I’ve made sites in flash and several flash application based tools. But the bottom line is that flash slowly missed its mark on development of its product. Plus new technologies like the iphone, ipad, or anything apple related to a strong stance on using the flash product on its platforms due to a lot of performance issues on their products.

So because of all this now everyone is turning away from flash and headed towards making websites with no flash or very little flash based code. Everyone is going with more open source development platforms, CSS, and looking ahead at some really cool features you can integrate with HTML5.

I know a lot of browsers are upgrading to handle HTML5 but at this point HTML5 is more of a buzz term. Yes eventually HTML5 will be the standard. But right now it isn’t there yet but it is moving way faster then I would have predicted. But I believe the main that comes into people’s mind when it comes to the internet. Is that if there website will still display properly with advancements in the way we view the web. The is probably yes.

But there is always some chance like for instance with Flash. Now that the iPad is out there and the iPhone if your website is completely built in flash your user base who uses those deceives to explore the web won’t be seeing anything on your site. So any precentage of users who can’t view your website isn’t good for your business model.

Now I love adobe flash and think it has its benefits and correctly areas of usage. But when planning out your website you need to know these trends and also consider how the site is built and the effects that has on how people view it.

If you would like to talk more about Flash development and design please contact me at info@robertmcmonagle.com. I would be happy to go over these benefits with you and see what is the correct route you should take with your project.

A companies logo is one of the first things it’s potential clients or customers see when their business shows up in front of them. This could be on a Billboard, a advertisement, a magazine, or even on a website. So when planning out your companies logo there are several things you need to ask your self and consider.

Does this logo convey what we do and represent in a simple fashion?

Does the logo translate through all types of media?

Is our logo easy to remember?

How does our logo hold up to our main competitors in our industry?

Does it look modern and up to date?

All of these are questions you should ask your self about your current companies logo or if your in the process of developing a new logo for you company. I personally believe the best logo’s you look at and you instantly know it’s main product selling point. If it takes longer then 2 seconds for someone to realize that you might want to think about how to achieve this in a logo update.

Your branding is only as strong as you make it and simplify it for your user base. Now you can also make some horrible mistakes when going through this process. And like any process you should spend a good amount of time working through. I mean most companies keep their logo for 5-10 years on average before updating it or even longer in some cases. So if your going to be keeping something for so long don’t you think you should put more then a few hours or a week effort into its development?

Another good point I like to make when it comes to companies logo’s is that it’s alright to be different from others. I personally like to get a good understanding of a companies products and services before even thinking about developing the logo. Perhaps a certain style of logo works great for your industry because of your competitors.

I like to consider all of these things when developing a logo. So if you want to talk more with me about this even in a consulting fashion please feel free to contact me at info@robertmcmonagle.com.

I won’t hesitate to tell you the truth about what I think based on my skills and years of experience. I’d rather let someone know what things are good and bad about their branding then to lie and not.

Brand Development is something I love to talk about and see happen. Having a good solid brand that is simple and developed to direct potential customers is key.

My first step in this process is to listen and discuss project specs, design and understand the target audience. Next it is good to do your research and review the competition and industry trends. After these phase is complete we will have a good understanding of the clients products and services.

The Next phase in this process is to develop a project brief which we will map out a time line and schedule for getting the project completed. After doing so we can start concept development of the branding. As I gather any necessary resources and deliverables needed to complete the project.

After this I can begin working on the design to create the main visuals presenting multiple design options at this time. Next we can then review those options and determine the best possibilities including color and layout studies. After which I can tweak the design and brand to meet the clients expectations.

In the final step of my brand development I will then review the requirements and standards for web, print, and an other publications or mediums. While providing quality control of the brand and getting everything in order for final production. Then delivering the final file types to the client for any future branding needs.

I believe these phases all depend on a number of items including deliverable and milestones to move forward with the project. And its best that I spend as much time as possible getting to know you and your business.

As you can see the Brand Development process is not a easy one and should not be taking lightly. This is the first impression your customers will get to see what you are all about. An first impressions are usually the most important in creating your brand.

Search Engine Optimization is the most important item to have as part of your business. Bottom line is that people go on the internet to find things. If they don’t find you then chances are they aren’t finding your website, product, services, etc…

This is why Organic SEO is so important. You must have your website built in a manor that it is properly Optimized in order to achieve this. I’ve been learning about SEO for over 7 years now and still am. It is a never ending evolving process that will continue as long as things keep changing. And things are always changing on the internet every single day.

I’ve been very fortunate throughout my career to have had a chance to learn from some great people in the SEO field. Because of this I’ve learned a ton of different techniques and strategies to get a site ranked number one on Google for its targeted keyword phrase.

Located in San Diego,CA I realize there are a lot of companies that say they know SEO and can provide those services. But I feel as though I have a real advantage over them from my one on one experiences and my personal network of SEO peers. You can’t rank every site the same way. One site might be able to achieve number one rankings within a few months. Were others might take up to 6 months to a year to get on that first page.

But once you are on that first page it is very important to then maintain that ranking. Your competitors aren’t going to just sit there and do nothing once they see you are number one on Google for a phrase they want to be number one on Google. They are going to try to do more and beat you.

The bottom line is basically if you want to do SEO and you want someone who has experience and will work with you and your products to understand exactly what you need. Then you should contact me. I am very sincere in the work I do and will always work to produce the best results possible.

Building applications on the iPhone is awesome and what makes it great is the amount of people who will get the opportunity to view your application based on the amount of people who not only own a iPhone but a iPad and even a mac.

But one of the main things which makes the application great is the visuals. Having a nice designed iPhone application helps ten fold in sales and also downloads of your iPhone app.
I personally have a iPhone myself and love it. Though I am currently waiting for the iPhone 5. I know that the iPhone and its technology isn’t going away anytime soon. With the incorporation of the new App Store on Mac there is no reason why the development of a iPhone App shouldn’t be thought about for your business. Because chances are if your not working on one then your competition probably is and or will be very soon.

Everyone wants one and a tons of people already have one and its just getting started! So now when thinking about your mobile strategy for your company it is very import that you take the iPad design into account.

While researching this topic online I found a great article by Matt Gemmell. Which really breaks down the design aspect of designing for the iPad and how to do so correctly.

I thought this was a very well done article so here is a link to it
